New Delhi: Team India’s former explosive opener Virender Sehwag had a habit of spoiling the line and length of the world’s best bowlers by beating them. In the history of Indian cricket, more than one batsman has come and gone, but it is difficult to find a batsman like Viru. Virender Sehwag used to start attacking the bowlers of the opposition team with the very first ball of the match. When Viru used to come to the crease, he became a fear for the opposing bowler and did not miss to send even the slightest weak ball of the bowler across the boundary line.
This is how Sehwag and Akhtar clashed
During Veeru’s career, there was an exciting battle between him and Pakistan’s dangerous fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. There has been a tough competition between these two on the cricket field many times. Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar were face to face in a match during the Indian team’s tour of Pakistan in 2004.
Shoaib Akhtar angered Sehwag
During Viru’s batting, Shoaib Akhtar was deliberately troubling him, saying after every ball, ‘Chowka maar ke dikha, chauka maar ke dikha’. When Shoaib repeatedly said this, Sehwag also gave a tremendous reply and said to Akhtar, ‘You are bowling or begging.’ At the same time, after answering with the tongue, Sehwag also answered Akhtar’s statement by hitting a four with his bat.
Sehwag slams Akhtar a lot
Sehwag himself has also disclosed this story between him and Shoaib Akhtar many times. Sehwag has also played many brilliant innings against Pakistan and his bat used to speak fiercely against Shoaib Akhtar. Due to these qualities of Veeru, he still rules the hearts of every sports lover.
