New Delhi: Bangladesh fast bowler Shahadat Hossain was banned from cricket for 5 years. Actually this player had assaulted his own teammate during the match in November 2019. After which the umpires complained of martyrdom.

Shahadat Hossain had beaten up during a first class match, after which he was banned for 5 years. Although this player has returned to the cricket field after 18 months.

According to a report in Cricinfo, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not yet given any official statement on this. But there are reports that now Shahadat Hussain does not need to complete the rest of his ban.

Shahadat Hossain has returned to cricket after 18 months. Shahadat bowled two overs for Partex Sporting Club against Old DOHS Sports Club.

Shahadat Hussain’s ban lifted

Akram Khan, president of BCB cricket operations, had given a statement on the matter a few months back on Somoy TV.

He had said, ‘He is facing a lot of problems in his family. His mother has cancer. He is no longer playing cricket, so when he called me, I spoke to some directors. We have requested the disciplinary committee of BCB. We look forward to getting positive results from them. I have also informed the Board President, who is also positive about him. Insha Allah, we hope he can play in NCL’.

Let us tell you that Shahadat Hossain has played 38 Tests and 51 ODIs for Bangladesh. In 2015, he also spent almost two months in custody.
