Colombo: Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi will captain the Gaul Gladiators team in the first season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), starting on Thursday. Bhanuka Rajapaksa will be the vice-captain of this team. Gaul Gladiators gave this information through their official Twitter account.

The Galle Gladiators team said, “Gaul Gladiators have made superstar Shahid Afridi the captain of the team and Bhanuka Rajapaksa as the vice-captain.”

Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20 matches for Pakistan. Recently he played in the Pakistan Super League playoff match, where he scored 12 runs in 2 matches for Multan Sultans, besides taking three wickets.
From India, Sudeep Tyagi, Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel and Manpreet Goni (Munaf Patel) will play in the Lanka Premier League. The start of the Lanka Premier League has been delayed due to the Corona virus crash. Now this tournament will be played from 26 November, the final match will be held on 16 December at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stedim in Hambantota.
