New Delhi: A 20-member Indian team has been announced for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka to be held in July this year. Six uncapped players have been included in this team. Sheldon Jackson has performed well in domestic cricket. He has scored more than 800 runs in the last two Ranji Trophy seasons. Sheldon has scored 5634 runs in first-class matches at an average of around 50, while in List A matches, he has scored 2096 runs at an average of 37.42. His average in T20 matches is 25.86, while the strike rate is 117.09. Sheldon has scored 1240 runs in T20 matches.
Team India announced for Sri Lanka tour
The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played on July 13, while the second and third ODIs will be played on July 16 and 18 respectively. The ODI series will be followed by three T20 matches on 21, 23 and 25 July.
Under the leadership of captain Virat Kohli, the Indian Test team will play a five-match Test series against England in August-September, so Dhawan has been made the captain for the Sri Lanka tour. Apart from Dhawan, the team’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been made the vice-captain. All matches will be played at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
