Lahore: Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was once famous for throwing the ball at lightning speed, the opposition batsmen often got intimidated in his overs, but now it has become difficult for him to even run.

Shoaib Akhtar, one of cricket’s greatest fast bowlers, has revealed that his days of running are over as he will have to get his knee operated and replaced. Akhtar’s international career was always affected due to injuries. This 46-year veteran of Pakistan had a knee operation done in Melbourne two years ago.

Gone are the days of running
Shoaib Akhtar, while releasing his picture on his Twitter account, wrote, ‘My running days are over as I am soon leaving for Melbourne, Australia to get my knee replaced.’

Took retirement in 2011
Shoaib Akhtar is called Rawalpindi Express for his speedy bowling. He retired from all forms of cricket in the year 2011. Shoaib played 46 Tests and 163 ODIs for Pakistan in which he took 178 and 247 wickets respectively. He also took 19 wickets in 15 T20 International matches.
