New Delhi: Before the start of the Test series being played between Team India and England, India’s opener Shubman Gill was injured. He had a knee injury on his left leg. Now big news has come regarding his injury.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Shubman Gill is expected to be fit by the time the second phase of IPL 2021 to be held in UAE begins.
Shubman will play IPL!
According to the report of Cricbuzz, it has been reported from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that Shubman has been in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for two weeks and he will be released before the IPL.
KKR CEO Venky Mysore said, ‘We are hopeful that Shubman will be available for the IPL’.
Shubman Gill will be fit soon
Shubman was at home after his return from England and started working out at the NCA earlier this month. A source told Cricbuzz, ‘Shubman is not feeling pain. Gradually his workload is increasing and he is also jogging two or three days a week. We are sure he will be fit before IPL.
KKR is planning to leave for Abu Dhabi on 27th August. Shubman may not be ready to go with the team this month but he may join the team in the first week of September. The second phase of IPL will start from 19th September.
Gill’s luck did not favor in England
India’s opener Shubman Gill suffered a serious injury to the shin (front part of the leg below the knee), due to which he was away from cricket for at least two months. The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) had told that, ‘Shubman has a shin stress fracture, due to which he will be out for at least two weeks. He will not be able to take part in the first three Tests against England in August. In such a situation, due to his injury, he had to return to India.
