Michael Clarke said that Smith could withdraw his name from the 14th season of the IPL, and that he would excuse injury during the IPL after being sold for a lower price.

This 31-year-old player was ‘released’ by Rajasthan Royals. In the recent auction, Delhi Capitals bought him for Rs 2.2 crore. Smith said, ‘I am really excited to join the team this year. The team has very good players and great coaches (Ricky Ponting). I am excited to join the team and add some happy memories with it. Hopefully I will help the team to achieve better results than last year.

This star batsman was associated with Rajasthan Royals in 2019 and was his captain in the UAE in 2020. The Royals, however, finished last. Smith has scored 2333 runs in 95 matches at an average of 35.34 in the IPL.
