Mumbai: Suresh Raina was released on bail after being arrested by the Mumbai Police (Mumbai Poilce) for joining a party in a club here with social distance related to Kovid-19 and violation of other rules. uw
This former Indian cricketer expressed regret over this ‘unfortunate’ incident that happened in ‘unknown’ in which 34 more people were caught with him. A statement issued by the management team of the former batsman said that Suresh Raina was not aware of the local rules at the time of the incident.

According to the statement, ‘Suresh Raina was present for shooting in Mumbai, this work went on till very late night. He was called by friends for dinner, after which he had to take a flight to Delhi. They did not know about local timings and protocols’.
It is also said in the statement that, ‘When they got information about this, they followed the process immediately. They regret this unfortunate and unintentional incident. They always give importance to laws and rules, and they will do the same in future.
Earlier on Tuesday, the police raided a club near Mumbai airport and arrested 34 people including Raina and Bollywood celebrity Sussanne Khan on charges of violation of Kovid-19 rules.
Police said 13 women and 7 employees of the club were among those arrested during the raid at the Dragon Fly Experience Club near Mumbai Airport. Police said that the women were released after the notice was served, while the men were arrested and later got bail.
According to police, the club was raided due to being open for longer than the deadline and not following the rules related to corona virus. Raina has played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals for India. He announced his retirement in August this year.
