T20 WC: Alarm bells for India! This deadly all-rounder joined Afghanistan’s team

New Delhi: The Indian team had to face defeat by 8 wickets in the second T20 World Cup match against New Zealand. This was the second consecutive defeat of the Indian team, which had lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first match. Now today Team India has to face Afghanistan in one last hopeful match. Before this match, a bad news has come for Team India.

This player joined Afghanistan’s team

The Competition Technical Committee of the ICC T20 World Cup on Tuesday allowed Sharafuddin Ashraf to be kept in Afghanistan’s team in place of Asghar Afghan. All-rounder Sharafuddin has played 17 ODIs and nine T20 Internationals. Due to Asghar’s retirement, he has got a place in the team. In view of the needs of isolation due to Kovid-19, teams were allowed to keep additional players in the team and Sharafuddin was also a reserve player in the Afghanistan team.

Asghar took retirement

Former captain Asghar decided to retire after the match against Namibia 24 hours after the loss to Pakistan. Former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan had left behind former India captain SS Dhoni in the matter of captaincy. Asghar is the captain who has won the most matches under his captaincy in T20 Internationals. Earlier this record was in the name of MS Dhoni (41 wins). But Asghar had won 42 matches for Afghanistan under his captaincy in March this year. No captain has won a T20 match more than Afghan till date.

India lost 2 consecutive matches

Team India has suffered a second consecutive embarrassing defeat in the T20 World Cup. Batting first against New Zealand, Team India put only 110 runs on the board in 20 overs. India’s big match winners were completely flops in this match. Neither the batsmen of India nor the bowlers could do anything in this match. Now reaching the semi-finals is almost impossible.
