‘Talking about ICC trophy, they haven’t even won IPL’, Suresh Raina said on Virat Kohli’s captaincy

New Delhi: Indian team captain Virat Kohli was criticized a lot after losing the World Test Championship title against New Zealand. Team India has always had to face defeat in ICC tournaments under the captaincy of Virat, so this time the anger of the fans erupted and demanded to remove him from the captaincy.

After all these criticisms, many veteran players supported him, now Suresh Raina has also given his statement regarding the captaincy of Kohli.

Raina said on Kohli’s captaincy

Suresh Raina while talking to ‘News 24 Sports’ said, ‘I think he is the number one captain. His records show that he has achieved a lot. I think he is the number one batsman in the world. You are talking about the ICC trophy, but they have not won the IPL yet. According to me, some time should be given to them. Two to three World Cups are to be held one after the other, two T20 World Cups and one 50-over World Cup. Reaching the final is not easy, sometimes you miss a few things.

Suresh Raina said, ‘WTC final is an example of this. People said that it happened because of the conditions, but I think there was something lacking in our batting. Big batsmen should partner and take responsibility.

Virat Kohli has not won a single ICC trophy

As Indian captain Virat Kohli has not won the ICC trophy even once. This time Team India had a great chance but Virat Sena failed once again. This is not the first time that under the captaincy of Kohli, Team India has lost in the final, even before this, under the leadership of Virat, the team reached the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy but had to face defeat from Pakistan. After that, they lost to New Zealand in the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup.
