Will India have 2 different teams?

When asked about the two different teams of India, Ganguly said that the team participating in the limited overs series will be different from the team that visited England. He said, ‘This will be a team of white ball (limited overs) specialist. It will be different from the team that went on England tour.

How many matches will be the series?

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly (BCCI president Sourav Ganguly) made it clear that the Cricket Board has also kept in mind the limited overs regulars. On Sri Lanka tour, there can be a series of at least 5 T20 Internationals and 3 ODIs.

These players have to be ready

Team India’s tour of England will end on 14 September and the remaining matches of IPL are yet to be planned. In such a situation, the BCCI wants players like Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal to be ready for the matches.

‘July will be the right use of the month’

Explaining the reasoning for the tour, a BCCI source told PTI, “The BCCI president wants that all our top players are ready for the match and since there is no limited overs series on England tour, in the month of July. Can be used well. ‘

Tour will be beneficial for selectors

The source said that it would not be possible for the top players of the Indian team to come from England in the month of July as the quarantine rules are very strict there. Technically, the senior team does not have to play any official match in the month of July. The test team will practice by playing matches among themselves. In such a situation, there is no harm in giving opportunity to match practice for the limited overs experts of India. This will also give the selectors a chance to fill the shortcomings of the team.

New faces may get a chance

This will give the team a chance to experiment. Rahul Chahar or Rahul Tewatia can be tested as an alternative to Chahal for leg spin. Chetan Sakariya can be tried in left-arm fast bowling. It will also have to be seen whether players like Devdutt Padikkal and Shreyas Iyer are fit to play the match. Prithvi Shaw’s ODI career has not gone up, while batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan are desperate to strengthen their claim in the team.
