Jaipur: Tim Southee led the Kiwi team in the first match of the 3-match T20 series against India in the absence of New Zealand’s regular captain Kane Williamson. After the match, he said that initially his bowlers did not bowl well, due to which they had to face defeat by 5 wickets against Team India.

Script for India’s victory in Powerplay

Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave Team India a good start and helped in the chase of 165 runs by collecting 50 runs for the first wicket. India scored 56 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the powerplay.

Kiwi team tried in the middle overs

Although the New Zealand cricket team made a comeback in the middle overs and made things very close, the early spin contributed significantly to Team India’s victory.

Tim Southee said, ‘The way we started with the ball, it was not what we wanted. But, we did well in the middle overs, which took the match till the last over, we gave a good fight.

Rohit Sharma (48), Yadav (62) and Rishabh Pant (17) scored an unbeaten knock as India registered a thrilling win over New Zealand in a thrilling match. Suryakumar Yadav, who came at number three, shared 59 runs for the second wicket with his captain.
