New Delhi: The eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will be held in Bengaluru from December 22 after a wait of two years but spectators will not be allowed in it. According to the press release issued by PKL organizer Mashal Sports here, keeping in mind the health of the players and stakeholders, it has been decided to organize the tournament without spectators. Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, this league could not be organized in 2020. It said, ‘The league will be held at one venue without spectators, which will be different from the traditional format of the previous season. The return of PKL will be an important step towards the resumption of interactive indoor sports in India.

PKL will be in Bio Bubble

The organizers also considered the names of Ahmedabad and Jaipur as hosts but in the end decided to hand over the hosting to Bengaluru. For this, a bio-safe environment (bio bubble) will be created following the government guidelines.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai promised all possible help to the league. He said, “Kabaddi is a genuine indigenous sport of India and extremely popular in Karnataka. We welcome and support the upcoming Pro Kabaddi event in our state.
