Abu Dhabi: In the 12-year history of IPL, many records have been made and many have been broken. This year too, all the cricketers will achieve new positions in this breathtaking T20 league. Here are some of the figures of last season before the IPL starting today.

Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the record for the highest score, having scored 263 for 5 against Pune Warriors in 2013 and 248 for 3 in 2016 against Gujarat Lions. Chennai Super Kings scored 246 runs for 5 wickets against Rajasthan Royals in 2010.
The record for the lowest score in the IPL is also in the name of RCB, who was dismissed for 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017. The Royals on the second and Delhi Daredevils on the third, who were out for 58 and 66 in 2009 and 2017 against RCB and Mumbai Indians respectively.
The victory of 146 runs by Delhi Indians against Delhi in 2017 is the biggest win by a margin of runs. KKR is the second number who beat Gujarat Lions by 144 runs in 2016.
So far, 8 matches have been decided by Super Over, out of which 3 included KKR. The record for giving the most extra runs in a match is in the name of KKR, who gave away 28 runs in 2008 against Deccan Chargers. Kings XI Punjab gave away 27 runs against RCB in 2011.
RCB captain Virat Kohli has the highest runs in IPL, having scored 5,412 runs in 12 seasons. Suresh Raina of Chennai has scored 5,368 and Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma has scored 4,898 runs. Chris Gayle of West Indies has hit the maximum 326 sixes in IPL, while AB de Villiers of RCB has scored 357 and Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has hit 297 sixes.
Gayle also holds the record for the highest score in the IPL, scoring an unbeaten 175 off 66 balls against Pune Warriors in 2013, which is also the fastest century of the tournament. KKR’s Brendon McCullum (158 not out) and De Villiers (133 not out) are in third place.
Gayle has scored the most 6 centuries in the IPL, while Kohli has 5 and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner has 4 centuries. Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul scored 51 off 14 balls against Delhi Capitals in 2018, which is the fastest half-century in the IPL. KKR’s Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine scored half-centuries in 15 balls in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
Lasith Malinga of Mumbai has taken 170 wickets in 122 matches in IPL at an economy rate of 7.14. Amit Mishra (157) of Delhi is second and Harbhajan Singh (150) of Chennai is third. Malinga and Harbhajan are not playing IPL this time. Aljari Joseph of Mumbai holds the record for best bowling, taking six wickets for 12 runs in 3.4 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad last year.
Delhi’s Amit Mishra has scored a hat-trick three times in 147 matches in the IPL. Former Mumbai all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has scored 2 and Sam Kuren of Chennai has scored 1 hat-trick. Rohit Sharma took a broken hat-trick while bowling for Deccan Chargers. KKR’s Sunil Narine has taken 4 wickets 6 times. Former India fast bowler Praveen Kumar has bowled 14 maiden overs in 119 matches.
