New Delhi: India’s left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav underwent knee surgery on Wednesday. He suffered a knee injury during the ongoing Indian Premier League in UAE. This star spinner was not given a place in the T20 World Cup team. Not only this, Kuldeep is also running out of his IPL team for a long time. But now it will be interesting to see whether Virat gives him a chance again after attaining fitness.
Kuldeep is fit
Kuldeep wrote on his official Twitter page, ‘The operation was successful and the recovery process has started. Thanks everyone for the support. Now the focus is on completing the rehabilitation well and then getting back on the field and doing what I love to do as soon as possible. PTI reported on September 27 that Kuldeep has suffered a serious knee injury and is likely to be out of action for most part of the upcoming domestic season. Also he has returned home from UAE.
Was out of IPL
Kuldeep, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, is running out of the Indian team and will have to undergo a lengthy rehabilitation process before returning to competitive cricket. A senior Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official had revealed, “Yes, we have received information that Kuldeep suffered a serious knee injury during a practice session in the UAE. He probably got his knee bent while fielding and the injury was serious at that time. There was no possibility that he would be able to participate further in the IPL and hence he was sent back to India.
Last played against Sri Lanka
Kuldeep from Kanpur has taken a total of 174 wickets in seven Tests, 65 ODIs and 23 T20 Internationals for India. He last played for India on the Sri Lanka tour. He took two wickets for 48 runs in ODIs and two wickets for 30 runs in T20 matches. He played one more ODI and one T20 but he did not get any wicket.
