new Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has given a big statement about MS Dhoni (MS Dhoni). He has said that if there is a big auction for the IPL in 2021, then Chennai Super Kings should release their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Chopra feels that if the three-time champions retain Chennai Dhoni, the team will have to pay Rs 15 crore for Dhoni.
Aakash Chopra said in a video on his Facebook page, ‘I think Chennai should release Dhoni if there is a big auction. I am not saying that you should not be included in Dhoni’s team. He will play the next IPL and if you retain him, you will have to pay Rs 15 crore ‘.
He said, ‘If Dhoni keeps and he only plays 2021 IPL, then you will get Rs 15 crore back in the 2022 season, but then what will you do with that money? This is the advantage of big auction. They can bring him back to the team through the Chennai Right to Match card.
Former Indian captain Dhoni (MS Dhoni) had made it clear before his final match of IPL-13 that he would not retire from the IPL at the moment and would play for Chennai Super Kings in this league next year as well.
During the toss in their last match played against Kings XI Punjab in IPL-13, when commentator Danny Morrison asked if this is your last IPL match for Chennai? So Dhoni said in response to this question, “No, not at all”.
Dhoni (MS Dhoni) had announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 this year, and there were speculations that this year’s IPL would be Dhoni’s last IPL with Chennai Super Kings.
But it was clear from Dhoni’s reply that he will continue to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021 as well.
Before Dhoni, CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan had also said in August this year that Dhoni will play in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings in 2021 and 2022 as well.
Three-time champions Chennai Super Kings have not qualified for the IPL playoffs for the first time.
Let us know that Dhoni has given IPL titles to Chennai in 2010, 2011 and 2018. Apart from this, the team has also been runner-up four times under his captaincy. Dhoni is the first player to play 200 or more matches in IPL.
