Tokyo: India’s second medal in Tokyo Olympics has been confirmed. Indian women’s boxer Lovlina Borgohain defeated Nien Chin Chen of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals of the women’s 69kg category. With this, Lovlina has made it to the semi-finals. India’s Lovlina Borgohain has created history in boxing. She has reached the semi-finals. This boxer from Assam has ensured another medal for India.

In the first round, Lovlina won 3-2. However, Lovlina tried to take good advantage of her height. He tried to punch continuously, but the boxer of Chinese Taipei showed more power.

Lovlina, 23, of Assam, defeated Nedin Appet of Germany, 12 years older than her, 3-2 in a last-16 round match played at the Kukugikan Arena on Tuesday. Playing on the blue corner, Lovlina scored 28, 29, 30, 30, 27 points respectively from the five judges.
