UTC umpire Richard Kettleborough to be ‘Unlucky’ in WTC final

New Delhi: The Indian team has to compete in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand in England next month. Before this big match, Team India has worked hard for the last two years. India has reached this stage after dusting many big cricketing nations of the world. But there are many things that can break the dream of Team India winning the WTC.

This umpire is unlucky

Let me tell you that Richard Kettleborough as an umpire has proved to be extremely unlucky for Team India, that too has happened especially in the ICC Trophy knockout matches. Of all the ICC knockout matches that India has played in the last few years, Richard Kettlebrow has umpired in almost all of them. Not only this, India has also lost those matches.

Lost in these big matches

When Kettleborough umpired, India had to face defeat in many big matches. This included the 2014 T20 World Cup final loss against Sri Lanka, the 2015 50-over World Cup semi-final defeat against Australia, the loss to the West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup semi-final. Not only this, India had to lose to Pakistan in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy in Kettlebrow umpiring and then in the 2019 World Cup semi-final match when Team India lost to New Zealand, Kettlebrow was the only on-field umpire.

Next month is the finals

India has to play the final match of the World Test Championship (WTC) from 18-22 in June next month. The match will be played in Southampton. Before this, Team India will leave for India on 2 June and reach England. Before this big match, no Indian fan would want Kettlebrow to be an umpire in a match.
