In the final of Javelin Throw, Neeraj Chopra was at the forefront from the very beginning. He has covered a distance of 87.03 meters in his very first attempt. In the second time, he covered a distance of 87.58. With this, he has thrown the javelin far beyond his qualification record. This is India’s first ever medal in Javelin Throw. Not only this, it is also India’s first medal in athletics.

Gavaskar started singing and dancing after winning gold

After winning the gold of Neeraj Chopra, Sunil Gavaskar, Ajay Jadeja and Ashish Nehra also jumped in joy along with the whole country. Gavaskar sang the song ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti’ and also started dancing on it. Received gold after 13 years

This is India’s first gold medal in Olympic Games after 13 years. Before Neeraj Chopra, Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in shooting in the Beijing Olympics. This is India’s second overall gold medal at the Olympics. Earlier, India has won 8 gold medals in hockey.

India’s 7 medals so far

India has now won a total of 6 medals including 1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze in the Tokyo Olympics. Apart from Neeraj Chopra, Mirabai Chanu (weight lifting) and Ravi Dahiya (wrestling) have won silver medals from India. At the same time, PV Sindhu, Bajrang Punia, Lovlina and the Indian hockey team won the bronze for India.
