Cuttack: Former Team India opener Wasim Jaffer will now be seen in a new role. He has been appointed as the head coach of the Odisha senior team for the upcoming domestic season.
2 year contract with Odisha team
Odisha Cricket Association CEO Subrata Behera told PTI, ‘He (Jaffer) will be the head coach. He has been contracted for 2 years. This decision was taken after the meeting of the Cricket Advisory Committee of the OCA. Jaffer will replace former state captain Rashmi Ranjan Parida who was with the team for two seasons.

Uttarakhand coach was made last year
“Apart from the development of cricket for all age groups, he (Jaffer) will also be a part of the coach development program in the state,” Subrata Bahera said in the statement. Jaffer, the highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy, will take over as the head coach of a state team for the second time. After retirement in March 2020, he coached the Uttarakhand team but resigned after a dispute with the association.
