Colombo: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a big update regarding Yuzvendra Chahal and Krishnappa Gautam. BCCI has made it clear that both these players will stay in Sri Lanka due to being Corona positive. Let us inform that before leaving for Sri Lanka, the corona test of Krishnappa Gautam and Yuzvendra Chahal has come positive.
Big update given by BCCI
Both Krishnappa Gautam and Yuzvendra Chahal will be quarantined in Sri Lanka. All-rounder Krunal Pandya is already in quarantine in Sri Lanka due to being infected. A BCCI official said that the team has left from Colombo but is still waiting at the airport as some new cases have come to the fore.
Chahal-Gautam will stay in Sri Lanka
A BCCI source in Colombo told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Yuji and Gautam have been found positive, the team was supposed to return to Bengaluru by charter flight without Krunal Pandya, but as per rules, Gautam and Yuji are now sent to Sri Lanka for seven days.” Will have to stay in Quarantine.
The test was done before catching the flight
Each member had to undergo RT-PCR test before boarding the flight to return. Gautam and Chahal were also found positive who were believed to be close contacts of Krunal. Six other cricketers – Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw and Deepak Chahar – will be able to leave for the country. Prithvi Shaw and Surya are to leave for Britain, where they will join the team in place of Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar who were injured.
