New Delhi: Former India selector Sarandeep Singh has questioned the Test team’s decision to ignore Prithvi Shaw. The BCCI’s Senior Selection Committee announced India’s Test team for the ICC World Test Championship final, which did not name Prithvi Shaw.
There was a lot of criticism of this decision of the management since Shaw was not in place in the team. Now Sarandeep Singh has called this decision wrong.
Former selector raised questions
On Shaw not being selected for the England tour, Sarandeep Singh said that it is too early to ignore a capable batsman like him.
Sarandeep Singh Singh said, ‘Shaw has the ability that Virender Sehwag used to do for the Indian team. You cannot ignore them so early in their career. He made a lot of runs in domestic cricket after being dropped from the team after the tour of Australia. He has also corrected his technical flaws and this could be seen in the Indian Premier League as well.
He said, ‘You have to support talented players like Shaw and Shubman Gill’.
Shaw’s great performance
Let us know that Shaw (Prithvi Shaw) did poorly in the Australian tour after which he was dropped from the team. But after that he made a comeback in excellent form. Shaw (Prithvi Shaw), after coming from Australia, won his team Mumbai by scoring a record 827 runs in the Vijay Trophy. Apart from this, Shaw’s form was also very good in IPL 2021. Shaw had scored 308 runs in eight matches of the IPL with an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 166.48.
