Airtel overtakes Jio, Vodafone Idea, BSNL for 5th consecutive month in terms of adding mobile subscribers

Airtel (Airtel) has once again beat other giant telecom companies in the direction of adding new mobile subscribers. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revealed the December 2020 figures, through which it has been revealed that the Indian Airtel company has topped the terms of adding new subscribers by December 2020 for the fifth consecutive month. According to the report, Airtel has surpassed the giant telecom companies like Jio, Vodafone Idea Vi and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in terms of adding new subscribers. Let us tell you, the company has dominated the list since August last year.

As per TRAI’s latest report, Airtel (Airtel) has added 4.5 million new mobile subscribers by December 2020. Airtel has a total subscriber base of 338.70 million in December, with a market share of 29.36 percent in December. At the same time, if you talk about Reliance Jio, by December 2020, the company has added 478,917 new subscribers, with its total subscriber base increased to 408.77 million in December. Reliance Jio has a market share of 35.43 percent in December.

At the same time, Vi (Vodafone Idea) suffered losses of frequent subscribers in December as well. In December 2020, Vi lost 5,690,219 subscribers. With this, Vi’s user base has come down to 284.25 million. The loss-making queue is also state-owned BSNL, which lost 253,330 subscribers in December 2020, taking its user base to 118.61 million.

According to TRAI data, the total number of wireless subscribers in India declined from 1,155.20 million to 1,153.77 million in December.
