Amazon Echo (4th Gen), Echo Dot (4th Gen) and Echo Dot (4th Gen) With Clock launched in India, price starts at Rs 4,999

Amazon introduced a new range of its Echo devices during a virtual event held on Thursday. New members of the family include Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Dot with clock smart speakers etc. This new lineup features a rounded design. The new Echo (4th generation) has replaced the old Echo as well as the Echo Plus, with a built-in Zigbee Hub that enables communication with various smart home devices. In addition to the regular Echo speaker, Amazon has also introduced the new Echo Dot Kids Edition during the event, which comes with ColorFur Panda and Tiger Print. The new Echo device has been said to be made of 100 percent recycling material and features a low power mode.

Amazon Echo lineup prices in India, availability

The Amazon Echo (4th Generation) has been priced at Rs 9,999 in India, while the Echo Dot (4th Gen) is priced at Rs 4,499. At the same time, the price of Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock is Rs 5,499. The price of this entire new lineup is the same as the smart speakers launched last year. The new eco dot has been listed on for pre-auditors, starting today from 25 September. The shipment is planned to start by the end of this year. On the other hand, the pre-order process for Eco and Eco Dot with Clock is yet to start.

In addition to the new three Echo speakers, Amazon has also launched the new Echo Dot Kids Edition, priced at US $ 59.99 (about Rs 4,420). However, there is a possibility that it will not be brought to India.

The older-generation Echo speaker was given a cylindrical design, however, in contrast to the new Amazon Echo (4th Generation) Spherical (Golkar) shape, which offers an orb-like look. This speaker comes with a 3 inch neodymium woofer and includes 0.8 inch twitters. An LED light ring is also featured to illuminate the base of this circular device. For the smart experience, the new Eco has been equipped with Amazon’s AZ1 Neural Edge processor, which is specifically built for accelerating machine learning applications. Dolby audio processing is also included in this speaker. It is inspired by Amazon Echo Studio.

The Echo (4th Gen) is the first such device in the range to come with a built-in Zigbee smart home Hub. This speaker also features Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support along with Amazon Sidewalk. Amazon Sidewalk Edition will help set up new connected devices immediately and will support devices like Tile.

Amazon has also provided a mute button in eco (4th generation), with the help of which users can turn off their micro phone when they do not want to access Alexa by voice command. Talking about connectivity, this speaker will have dual band Wi-Fi 802.11ac as well as 3.5mm headphone jack. It also acts as a regular Bluetooth speaker. The 144x144x133mm weight of this device is 970 grams.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) specifications

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) comes with 1.6 inch audio drivers and it also has a circular design and light ring like the Echo. This speaker also has a mute button and includes a tap-to-snooze feature to snooze the alarm. Talking about connectivity, the Echo (4th generation) includes dual band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 3.5mm headphone jack. The weight of this device of 100x100x89mm is 341.3 grams.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock specifications

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock is similar to the new Eco Dot. However, it has an LED display on the front, in which you can see the time, outside temperature, timer and alarm. The weight of this device of 100x100x89mm is 351.3 grams.
