Apple launches iMac 24-Inch, Apple TV 4K also better than before, know the price and all the features

Apple launched the all-new iMac at its Spring Loaded event on Tuesday 20 April, which saw its custom designed ARM chip. As usual, this time Apple’s new upgrade 24-inch iMac is thinner, faster and cool running device than the first generation. Along with this, the company also introduced Apple TV with new improvements, which is a 4K streaming device. It will have Apple A12 Bionic SoC which you can see in the handsets of Apple’s latest iPhone 12 generation. Preorders for both the new iMac and the new Apple TV 4K will start at the end of the month and its sale will start from next month.

All-New 24-inch iMac, Apple TV 4K refresh price and availability

The Apple i1 SoC has been given in the new iMac and it starts at $ 1,299 in the US, which is equivalent to about Rs 97,900. It will be preorder from April 30. This price of the device is for its 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 256GB storage, Magic Keyboard model. In India, its price starts from 1,19,900 and goes up to 1,39,000 which includes 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 256GB storage model. At the same time, high-end devices, including 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 512GB storage model, start at Rs 1,59,000. These devices also come with a magic keyboard with Touch ID. In the US, its high-end models cost $ 1,499 (about Rs. 1,13,00) and $ 1,699 (about Rs. 1,28,100). The company said that the new M1-based iMac device will start going on sale by the third week of May.

Talking about Apple TV 4K, it comes with A12 Bionic SoC and its 32 GB storage model is priced at $ 179 (about Rs 13,500). While the price of the 64GB storage model is $ 199 (about Rs. 15,000) in India, the price starts at Rs 18,900 and goes up to 20,900. It can also be pre-ordered from 30 April and will be available in about 30 countries. The new Siri Remote comes at a price of Rs 5,800 and also works with older Apple TV devices. Apple TV 4K will also be available for the first time with AppleCare + priced at Rs 2,900.

All new 24-inch iMac with M1 SoC features, specifications

The M1-based iMac has a new design. Its distraction free muted color attracts a lot and it is more luminous at the back. Its base model is available in four types of color options – blue, green, red and silver. At the same time, its two high-level models are available in Yellow, Orange and Purple colors. The iMac has a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display (4480×2520 pixels), Apple’s True Tone color balance, P3 wide color gamut, 500 nits brightness and low reflectivity coating. The company says that its 24-inch display fits into the frame much lighter than the earlier 21.5-inch model. Apple’s (AIO) PC is more compact and only as thin as 11.5mm.

Apple says that its M1 chip and its ARM-based design is that the chip in the system reduces the size of the logical board and the device needs a smaller thermal system. At the same time, instead of the big fan inside, now there are two small fans which make it 50 percent (<10 dB) soundless. Apart from the instant wakeup, it also has many other benefits of the new SoC. It offers up to 85 percent faster performance than the older 21.5 models. GPU performance has also increased 2 times. At the same time, machine learning performance has been claimed to be up to 3 times faster.

The all-new iMac also features a 1080p webcam that uses the M1’s neural engine to recognize faces and provides better exposure and color balance. Apart from this, it also has a 3-mic array of studio quality with beamforming tech. There is a system of Dolby Atmos certified 6 speakers with force canceling woofers and high performance twitters.

It has options for connectivity. New iMac users can choose from four USB Type-C ports. Two of these may be Thunderbolt. AIO supports 6K display. A new magnetic power connector has also been given in this bar. It comes with a two-meter woven color match cable and adapters. It connects to the Ethernet port to save space. Not only this, Apple has also launched three new magic keyboards. One of these is for color matching keyboard spotlight, dictation, don’t disturb and emoji. The second keyboard is of the same design but also has Wireless Touch ID. And finally, the third new model is of the same design but also has a numpad. New color matching versions of Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad have also been improved.

In specifications, the 24-inch base model comes with 16 GB of unified memory. It has 1 TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth v5 and two Thunderbolt / or USB 4 ports. On the other hand, its high-end model has up to 2 TB of SSD storage and three USB ports are provided separately.

Apple TV 4K with A12 Bionic features, specifications

Apple TV 4K is Apple’s A12 Bionic processor. It also supports high frame rate HDR content. Apple has said that it is in talks with the content provider to provide international level content. iPhone 12 Pro users can record 60 fps Dolby Vision HDR content from their phones.

At the same time, Apple has now given a new feature called Color Balance. This is for Apple TV 4K users so that the color balance of the TV can be adjusted by the iPhone. In this, the iPhone has to be held on a fixed spot in front of the TV and the color output of the TV is corrected with the help of the light sensor on the iPhone.

The new Siri Remote has also been launched with Apple TV 4K. It can be purchased separately. This remote also works with Apple’s previous generation TV Apple TV HD. This remote has a touch keypad, an outer ring that can read the circular motion from which the video can be sought on the timeline. The remote has a power button that controls the TV set. The company says it is made of 100 percent recycled aluminum.
