Bajaj has told through Chetak’s dedicated Facebook account that the booking of Chetak Electric will start in Chennai and Hyderabad city soon. However, the company has not shared the exact date of commencement of booking. Booking for Pune and Bangalore began on 13 April and on Thursday last week, the company announced tremendous response to booking through its Facebook account. Within two days of booking start in both cities, Bajaj stopped taking bookings of Chetak EV and the company later announced sold out.
Let’s say that Chetak comes equipped with many premium features. First let’s talk about motor and battery. The Bajaj Chetak Electric is powered by a 4.8kW motor that generates 16Nm peak torque and 6.44bhp maximum power. With this, Chetak can reach a top speed of 70Kmph. The scooter gets a 3kWh capacity battery, which is capable of giving a range of 95Km in Eco mode and 85Km in Sport mode. The company claims that the battery takes 5 hours to be fully charged. Common 5A power sockets can be used for charging, which is a good thing. The company has also claimed that the Chetak Electric scooter can be charged up to 25 percent in just 1 hour.
The Chetak EV includes LED lights, alloy wheels, digital instrument cluster, steel body, front disc brake reverse mode, mobile app connectivity, GPS and navigation among many other modern features. The Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh ex-showroom in India. This price is for its urban variants. It also has a premium variant, which costs 1.20 lakh rupees.
