As per the report by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp version 188.8.131.52 beta for Android introduced a new insert call button to replace the new catalog shortcut. Once tapped on the new call button, you will see a pop-up menu giving you the option of whether you want to make a video call or a voice call.
Let me tell you, the new call button feature is available only for business chats, in which catalogs are offered on WhatsApp. This option replaces the existing video and voice call shortcut, which is still available in Regulatory Chats.
The aim of the catalog shortcut update will be to provide quick access to the protected portfolio of users doing business through WhatsApp.
Earlier this month, WABetaInfo revealed the feature in WhatsApp version 184.108.40.206 beta. However, now this feature has been introduced in version 220.127.116.11 beta for all beta users.
You can download the latest beta into your smartphone after being part of the WhatsApp beta program. In addition, the latest WhatsApp beta release is available in the APK file via APK Mirror, which can be sideloaded to your phone.
Let me tell you, in a recent beta release, WhatsApp has hinted at features like much awaited multi device feature and wallpaper customization. In addition, the instant messaging app also introduced improvements to the “recently used emoji” problem.
