Command Alexa now on Amazon Fire TV device

Amazon Alexa support in India will now be received in Hindi language on Amazon Fire TV devices. With the latest update, users can ask Alexa in Hindi on Fire TV devices, including Fire TV Stick etc. This support has been added in addition to the existing English language on Alexa. In addition to Hindi language support, Amazon has also expanded into Alexa Routines on Fire TV devices. This new feature is available in other global markets with India, with this feature users can execute many functions in smart home devices using Alexa integration.

After this update, you can now talk to Amazon Alexa in Hindi language on Fire TV devices. According to Amazon, you can experience many features such as music, personality, smart home, timer and alarm, weather, news, local search, skil in Alexa on Hindi language.

However, the point to note here is that after this update Alexa on Fire TV can only understand commands in Hindi language. But this voice assistant cannot talk to users in Hindi language. In such a situation, Alexa will still answer your Hindi question in English. This is different from the Hindi language support of Amazon Echo devices.

Gadgets 360 has contacted Amazon for clarification in this regard, we will update you through this news as soon as the company responds.

To switch Fire TV users from English to Hindi language, go to Settings and click on Preferences, here you have to choose Hindi language over Language. New users can also select the Hindi language while setting up the Amazon device.

Let me tell you, in September Amazon added Hindi language for Alexa app on Android and iOS devices. The US company introduced Hindi support for the Amazon Echo device in September last year.

Apart from the Hindi language, the ability of Alexa Routines has also been introduced in Fire TV devices. With this, users can do many tasks like turning on the Fire TV device at any given time or controlling the smart home device.

For example, you can make Alexa routines, so whenever you say “Alexa, I’m getting a snack” Alexa will pause your Fire TV content and turn on the Smart Lights. Apart from this, you can also make a routine with “I’m back”, so whenever you say these words, the smart light will automatically turn off and the pose content will play.

Also, you can turn off the Fire TV device by reducing the Alexa routines of the words “Alexa, time for bed” and reduce the smart lights.

Several routines can be set using the Alexa app. By going to the Routine Setup page of your Alexa app, you can see which Fire TV devices are included in your routine. You can link your Fire TV device to the Alexa app in Fire TV by going to Settings then TV & Video.
