According to a CNBC-TV18 report, Elon Musk plans to bring his SpaceX company’s Starlink project to India. The report says that Musk is eyeing the 1 trillion market of India and China. The company also wants to meet the demand for in-flight internet and maritime services in both countries.
In August last year, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI, issued a consultation paper on increasing broadband connectivity, in response to which the Vice President of SpaceX Satellite Government Affair, Patricia Cooper said that if the government approves With the help of Starlink’s high-speed satellite network, all Indians can be given broadband connectivity in the coming times. He said that this service can provide internet comfortably even in remote areas of the country. The company claims that the service currently has 10,000 active users worldwide.
If the fact that Starlink is coming into the Indian telecom market is true, then surely it will be a matter of concern for BSNL, Airtel and Reliance Jio. Currently, these three companies dominate the mobile Internet and broadband market, which is a government company.
