Koo has been launched as an Indian alternative to Twitter. The app is getting support for self-sufficient India campaign. Many big leaders and popular figures are signing up for this app and people are being urged to support it. These include big names like Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyus Goyal, IS Officer Sonal Goel. Not only this, MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology), India Post, MyGov have also created their accounts in Koo.
The microblogging website and app Koo (What is koo App) is not new. It was launched in March 2020 by Aprameya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawatka (Who Made Koo App). However, people are now getting to know Koo after it was promoted by veteran Indian leaders and big ministries. Along with Hindi, the app also includes support for Bengali, Gujarati, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayali, Marathi, Punjabi, Assamese and Oriya languages to give the app an Indian flavor.
Koo can write short posts up to a maximum of 400 characters. Audio messages, videos, links and photos can also be shared in the post. Koo can be downloaded and installed through both the Google Play and Apple App Store platforms. The app has a rating of 4.7 on Google Play and by the time of writing the news this rating had been done by 55,194 people. The app has been downloaded more than 1 million times. At the same time, the app has a rating of 4.2 on the App Store.
