If WhatsApp’s new terms are not accepted, account will be closed: Report

If you do not accept WhatsApp’s new term of service, you can lose access to the app. Yes, the latest report has revealed that the popular messaging app is reportedly going to update its term of service in the coming year, which will start from 8 February. If users do not agree with this new privacy rules, then they can lose access to WhatsApp messaging app. In its report, WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot of the new term and privacy policy update, which clearly states that users can delete their WhatsApp account if they do not accept this term. The Facebook-owned app has also confirmed separately in this regard.

WABetaInfo has shared the screenshot in its report which can be seen that the Terms and Privacy Policy is going to be updated. This screenshot gives information about major updates, including information about users’ data processing and how to manage and store WhatsApp chats using the Business-Facebook hosted service.

After the information of this update, a disclaimer has also been given for the users, which clearly states that this new policy will come into effect from 8 February 2021. The disclaimer states, “After this date, you will have to accept new terms to continue using WhatsApp or you can delete your account.” WABetaInfo also mentioned that the date given above could also be changed, according to the report that the terms of service could be updated in the coming weeks only.

A WhatsApp spokesperson confirmed to The Independent that all users will have to accept the new policy by February 8 next year if they want to continue the app service further. Gadgets 360 has contacted the company for clarity in this regard, it will be updated in this news as soon as the reply is received.

Talk about another new update of WhatsApp, this update includes the facility to set custom wallpapers for various chats and the updated stock wallpaper gallery. Apart from the changes made to the wallpaper, an option is also being brought to search the stickers using WhatsApp text and emoji.
