Micromax has posted a tweet on its Twitter account, sharing a very short video. This video does not provide any information other than the chipset of the phone. This shows that the smartphones included in the upcoming In series will be equipped with MediaTek Helio G35 and Helio G85 chipsets. The names of the phones have not been announced by the company yet, but it has been rumored for some time that the upcoming series of smartphones will be launched under the names of Micromax In 1 and In 1a. Company CEO Rahul Sharma has said in an interview that the price of the phones included in the series will be between 7,000 to 15,000 rupees. It is possible that the company will give MediaTek Helio G35 chipset in affordable price smartphones and MediaTek Helio G85 chipset in mid-range smartphones.
Recall that Micromax recently released a video teaser, which confirmed the launch of the series on 3 November. In this video, the company featured the tagline ‘Aao Karein Cheeni Kum’ (Come Us Chinese Cum), which is clearly tight on Chinese smartphone brands. The company is targeting Chinese companies that have occupied the Indian smartphone market due to the Indo-China border dispute. The launch time was stated at 12 o’clock in this video, however, it is not known whether the launch will be livestreamed through a virtual event.
A tipster Abhishek Yadav shared the Geekbench listing of a Micromax smartphone a few weeks ago, showing the phone’s name as Micromax In 1a. The listing revealed that the phone will include the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset and it will be equipped with 4 GB RAM. Apart from this, the phone was listed with Android 10 in it. According to the company’s CEO, the phone will give a stock Android experience. It remains to be seen whether it will be fully stock or any custom skin of the company offering the stock experience.
