Xiaomi has informed about the global launch of MIUI 12.5 on February 8 via Facebook post. Although this post does not provide any information other than MIUI, it is expected that the company may also present the Mi 11 globally at this virtual launch event. It is worth noting that the company announced MIUI 12.5 with the launch of Mi 11 in China last month.
The global release of MIUI 12.5 cannot be more different from the MIUI 12.5 that has been introduced in the Chinese market. Which means that the latest MIUI update will come with features like clipboard protection, floating windows, proximate location sharing and sandbox support.
One of the major features that comes with MIUI 12.5 is MIUI +. It works like Microsoft’s Your Phone app, in which users can integrate notifications, messages and photos directly onto the computer screen by integrating their Xiaomi phones with the Window PC. Not only this, you can also access the clipboard data of the phone and some of its installed apps on the connected computer.
Xiaomi has not yet clarified the details of the smartphones that are going to receive MIUI 12.5 Global Stable Update. In addition, the company ended the MIUI Global Beta ROM testing program in 2019, so the latest update may take some time to reach users.
However, the Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K30, Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 9 are all eligible models that received the MIUI 12.5 update in China.
