WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo revealed the new Read Later in its report. According to the report, this feature has been seen in the WhatsApp Android beta. The new WhatsApp v2.21.2.2 for Android beta featured this Read Later feature. Let me tell you, this feature was also seen in the new WhatsApp for iOS beta v2.20.130.16 in November. Of course, this feature is currently at the under development stage, and you cannot use this feature right now even if you have the latest beta installed. Whenever this feature is ready for testing, WhatsApp will release it for beta users.
The WABetaInfo report states that the Read Later feature will be located exactly where the Archived Chats are located. By tapping on it, you will see an introductory banner which reads “To reduce interruptions, chat with new messages will be present here and you will not be given any notification.” The tracker’s report also states that WhatsApp is working on improving this function.
Users can also easily turn off the Read Later feature by toggling the chat settings. After the feature is off, all the messages in the read letter will be erased from that list and will be visible directly in your chat. At the moment, no information has been revealed regarding when this feature will be rolled out to all users.
