HMD Global has announced through the Nokia Community Forum that the Android 10 (Go edition) update has started rolling out for Nokia 2.1 users. Apart from India, the countries that will receive this update in the first wave include Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Nokia says that the update has been approved for only 10 percent of the markets in First Wave that have started receiving it. However, this update will reach 50 percent users by 5 September, while by 7 September it will reach Android 10 (Go Edition) update in all markets.
HMD Global also made public the update rollout via Twitter.
Android 10 (Go Edition) is designed for entry-level phones, a tone-down version of the standard Android 10, which is extremely lightweight and saves a lot of data. It comes with the light version of Google Apps, such as Google Go, Gallery Go, Camera Go, Assistant Go etc.
This update will give Nokia 2.1 users more control in privacy and security settings.
Significantly, in March, HMD Globble pushed forward the dates of Android 10 update due to Corona virus epidemic.
Talking about the features of Android 10, you get dark mode in it, which makes the device easy to use even in low light. The Smart Reply feature predicts what you are going to type next. It also helps in the work of informing you of the address received in the message using Google Maps.
