OnePlus 9 series launch details
The launch of the OnePlus 9 series will be on March 23 at 10 am EDT (7:30 pm IST) via a virtual event. This event will be livestreamed through the OnePlus website.
If we accept the rumors and leaks as true, the OnePlus 9 Series will also include the affordable OnePlus 9e along with OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. This will be in contrast to last year’s OnePlus 8 series, which initially included OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro and later added the OnePlus 8T series.
OnePlus also announced a partnership with premium camera company Hasselblad to revamp the OnePlus 9 Series camera system.
OnePlus and Hasselblad will work together to enhance the mobile camera experience for the next three years. The companies will begin the partnership by introducing software improvements, including color tuning and sensor calibration. OnePlus also said in a statement that (translated), ‘The partnership will be extended to more dimensions in the future.’
Talking about cameras, OnePlus 9 Series will get custom Sony IMX 789 sensor and 12-bit RAW support. The new smartphone series will also be capable of recording HDR video at 4K at 120FPS and 8K at 30FPS.
Separately, Tipsster Vaibhav Jain (Vaibhav Jain), who runs the YouTube channel TechDroider, posted a picture showing the OnePlus 9 Pro with “stellar black” color and textured finish.
OnePlus 9 Series has also been confirmed to have an in-box charger. Responding to a comment on the OnePlus platform, Pete Lau said that the new series will actually get a charger inside the box as well. This is in contrast to Apple and Samsung, where smartphone giants recently decided to remove the charger from the box of their flagship smartphones.
It is expected that with the OnePlus 9 series, the company can also offer its first smartwatch, which can be called OnePlus Watch. The phones and smartwatches are expected to be available in other markets including India sometime after launch.
