According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing two new features these days, both of which have been seen in the latest beta update version 22.214.171.124. A feature name is the Join Missed Calls feature, with the help of this feature, users can become part of a missed call on WhatsApp. However, this feature will work only when that call is still running, after which users can join that group call in between. It can be seen in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo that users will get two options ‘Ignore’ and ‘Join’ with this feature. If the ongoing call is necessary for you, you can also become part of that call later by clicking on ‘Join’. If you do not find that call necessary, you can also ignore it.
Talking about the ‘Biometric lock’ feature, WhatsApp is reportedly going to add options other than fingerprint scanning to the authentication process. Until now, in the privacy settings of WhatsApp, you only had the option of fingerprint lock, but now it seems that this option is going to change, now biometric lock will be introduced in which face lock can be included.
At the moment, it is not clear when these two new features will be introduced in the app. It is also worth noting here that both these features are under development, which is not yet available for beta built users.
Let me tell you, recently it was revealed in beta update version 2.2043.7 that voice and video call support is going to be added to web / desktop soon, which till now only messaging was available. However, this feature is available for Android and iOS apps.
