Weibing announced the launch of the Redmi K40 series next month via Weibo. He has also confirmed that the 40 Series of Redmi will be an affordable flagship and will be priced starting at 2,999 Chinese Yuan (about Rs. 34,000). This may be the price of the base variant in the Redmi 40 series. It is expected that more premium RAM and storage options of the phone can also be launched. As we said, Redmi K40 series has already been confirmed to be equipped with Snapdragon 888 chipset.
In addition, Weibing has also indicated the inclusion of an AMOLED display in the Redmi K40, but added that it would not feature a 3D curved design like the Mi 11. Redmi K40 can come with better battery life and ‘cheaper price’.
Previous leaks suggest that the series may also feature a Redmi K40 Pro model, which may be equipped with a pop-up selfie camera design instead of a hole-punch display. A recent live image leak indicated that the Redmi 40 model will have a quad rear camera setup at the rear and a hole-punch selfie cutout at the front. It can come with 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port.
