A report by South Korean publication The Elec citing industry sources says that the Galaxy A72 will have a Penta-camera setup. The report states that the setup includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 5-megapixel fifth sensor. According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy A72 will also have a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Apart from this, it has been claimed that the Galaxy A52 will be launched alongside the Galaxy A72. This smartphone will have quad rear cameras like its current younger brother Galaxy A51.
The Samsung Galaxy A72 will not be the first phone to feature a Penta-camera setup. Prior to this, HMD Global has included such a five-sensor back camera setup in the Nokia 9 PureView.
The report further states that Samsung will increase the number of camera modules used in smartphones next year.
According to previous reports, the Galaxy A72 will be the first A-series phone to get Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Samsung is reportedly planning to bring OIS technology to the high-end models of the Galaxy A-series next year.
