Samsung Exynos 1080 specifications
Samsung’s Octa-Core Exynos 1080 processor follows 4 + 3 + 1 core configurations, with four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores with clock speeds of 2.6 GHz and a Cortex-A78 core. Which has a clock speed of 2.8 GHz. This processor also includes Mali-G78 MP10 GPU to handle graphics.
This processor includes an onboard neural processing unit (NPU) and digital single processor (DSP), which allows the Exynos 1080 to run 5.7 trillion operations per second. Apart from this, it also comes with faster and more secure on-device AI support.
For connectivity, Exynos 1080 has 5G NR Sub-6GHz, 5G NR mmWave, LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2 and FM radio support. Apart from this, it also has standard GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo support etc. Talking about memory and storage, the Exynos 1080 gets LPDDR5 and LPDDR4x RAM as well as UFS 3.1 storage support.
This new processor is HDR10 + compatible for display support and can also handle WQHD displays with a 90Hz refresh rate. It supports full-HD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Exynos can handle a 200 megapixel camera with a 1080 single camera setup and a dual camera setup where both sensors are 32 megapixels. These HEVC (H.265) /H.264/VP8/VP9 (10 bit only with HEVC and VP9) are capable of processing 4K video at 60fps.
Samsung has not yet clarified with which phones the Exynos 1080 processor will be introduced, but a report surfaced last month said that the new mobile processor could be featured with the Galaxy S21 series. Apart from this, other reports indicated that the upcoming Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro smartphones will be equipped with Exynos 1080 processor.
