TVS iQube electric scooter beats Bajaj Chetak EV with 2700% more sales

Currently, there are many products in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, which have proved that the future of electric vehicles is golden. Two of these are the only rivals of Indian two-wheeler manufacturers, which are selling fast and their sales are seeing tremendous growth every month. We are talking about TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak EV electric scooters. Both the Indian two-wheeler brands are performing well in the electric two-wheeler segment. However, the latest sales figures show that August 2021 has turned out to be good for TVS’s iQube electric scooter.

Talking about the latest figures, a total of 649 units of TVS iQube have been sold in the month of August, which is 2722% more than that of August 2020. Let us tell you that exactly a year ago in the month of August, only 23 iQube were sold. On the other hand, talking about the biggest competitor of this scooter, Bajaj Chetak EV, in August 2021, only 364 units of this electric scooter have been sold, which is 172 units more than in August 2020. However, even though Bajaj has sold fewer units than TVS, the company has seen decent growth as compared to last year.

At the same time, the growth of the Indian electric two-wheeler market can be gauged from the fact that both the two-wheeler giants together sold a total of 1,013 units in August 2021, compared to a total of 215 units sold last year, year-on-year. -Year (YoY) growth of 371.16%. However, this is a decrease of 20.24% as compared to the July figures. Let us tell you that in July 2021, 540 units of TVS iQube and 730 units of Bajaj Chetak EV were sold.

In the coming time, there can be a difference in the sale of these two scooters, because there are many start-ups in India, who are launching their new electric scooters. These include Ather Energy, Simple Energy and well-known cab service provider OLA. Electric scooters of all three brands are creating a stir in the market on the basis of affordable price and powerful specifications. OLA recently started booking its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters and the company has Claim It has been said that the company has sold more than Rs 600 crore in a single day.

Let’s take a look at some of the specifications. The TVS iQube electric scooter gets an electric motor of 4.4kW capacity. The company claims that this scooter can give a range of 75 km in a single charge. The top speed of the scooter is 78Kmph. It gets a lithium-ion battery of 2.25kWh capacity. The scooter comes equipped with many advanced features and its instrument cluster supports GPS/navigation and mobile connectivity.

On the other hand, Bajaj Chetak 4.08kW capacity motor is available. It has two modes. The range in Eco mode is 95Km and in High-Performance mode the range drops to 85Km. Its top speed is 70Kmph. The scooter also gets a digital instrument cluster, which supports GPS/Navigation and mobile connectivity.
