As mentioned by the blog WABetaInfo, which tracks the features of WhatsApp, a gradually redesigned storage usage section is being added for users in the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android. However, this feature is not currently available for all beta testers.
The redesigned storage usage section was initially leaked by the same blog in June. It shows in detail the space taken by media files shared on WhatsApp. For forwarded files and large files, a separate listing is found under Settings> Data and storage usage> Storage usage> Suspend clean up option.
Users can also sort their files by date or size. This update helps users to quickly delete their non-critical forwarded files and those files quickly and can also manage their phone storage comfortably.
WhatsApp has not provided any information about when the developers will release this feature in a stable version for all users. However, if you are using its beta version on your Android device, you can check it by going to Google Play or by sideloading the latest version from APK Mirror.
It is important to note that the redesigned storage usage section is not initially available to all beta testers and is being released slowly through WhatsApp 2.20.9.9 beta. So chances are high that you will not be able to see this new section even after updating the beta release on your phone.
