According to Business Standard report, the Indian government has launched the new Sandes app, which is an instant messaging option of WhatsApp. The app is completely Indian and is currently working on a trial basis. The report further states that the Sandes (Sandes) app, which is being called GIMS, is currently given to select government employees to use. This app is called Government Instant Messaging Systam (GIMS). At present, there is no information about whether the app has been introduced only for government work or the general public will also be able to use it.
According to the report, this app works on Android and iOS platforms. However, the app is not available in the App Store on both platforms. It is being given directly to government employees. The Sandes app is designed to be similar to the new modern chatting apps, with chatting as well as the option to transfer voice messages and media files.
