Regarding non-response to RTI application related to Contact Tracing App to various Chief Public Information Officers (CPIOs) as well as National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NIC Issue a show cause notice.

Taking action on the complaint against NIC by activist Sourav Das, the Commission has questioned NIC CPIO as to why it was unable to give a clear answer to the RTI application filed by the petitioner. Let me tell you, its information was first given by the legal case tracing website LiveLaw.in.

The Information Commissioner said in the order, “The commission orders the CPIO, NIC to clarify in writing how the website https://aarogyasetu.gov.in/ was created with the gov.in domain name, if their Didn’t have any information about it. “

The petition filed by Das stated that NIC, NeGD and MeitY have been unable to provide information related to the creation of the Arogya Setu App. Explain, the complainant had sought information such as the origin of the app’s proposal, details of the approval it received, copy of conversations between the companies involved, individuals and government departments as well as the people developing the app.
