OxygenOS 13 with redesigned interface, Spatial Audio unveiled: All the details


OnePlus today unveiled OxygenOS 13 at the New York City launch event. OnePlus 10 Pro will be the first smartphone with the new Android 13-based skin. According to the company, the OnePlus 10T will get the OxygenOS 13 update later this year. The next version of the OnePlus skin for its smartphones will bring a redesigned user interface with rounded edges for app icons, widgets and notifications, making it relatively easy to customize, according to OnePlus. The company also said that the new version of OxygenOS has a new “aquamorphic” design.

OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 10T 5G as well as OxygenOS 13 at its New York City launch event today. The new OxygenOS is said to be inspired by nature and feature an aquamorphic design. According to OnePlus, the aquamorphic design literally means like water. The focus of OxygenOS 13 is claimed to provide a bloat-free user interface and burden-less experience. OnePlus said that it will have to make about 595 improvements to OxygenOS 12 to ensure consistency with the upcoming OxygenOS 13 update.

OxygenOS 13: What’s New

According to the company, OxygenOS 13 is said to bring a redesigned UI experience for OnePlus smartphone users. Now, app icons, notification windows and widgets will have rounded edges. According to the company, rounded edges are relatively easier to customize than sharp edges. Task Manager will display running apps with floating effect. This effect will also be seen on widgets and app notifications.

OnePlus is also bringing changes to the Always-On Display (AOD) feature with OxygenOS 13. It introduced three new AOD user interfaces named Canvas AOD, Insight AOD and Bitmoji AOD. In addition, OnePlus has partnered with Spotify to bring the app’s widgets to AOD. This will enable users to easily switch between tracks and control their music directly from AOD. According to the company, users will have access to the “Food Delivery” AOD mode.

The Chinese company is also bringing many improvements to the existing features. OxygenOS 13 will offer an improved Smart Launcher, Zen Mode and Fast Pair. The updated AI Booster is said to offer 30 percent more fluidity, 20 percent faster app installation and 10 percent faster app launch. Smart Launcher claims that it also boosts the user’s phone management efficiency. According to the company, the sidebar window has also been improved. to tap all Will allow users to quickly view all apps, tools and recently used apps for easy access. OnePlus says the Near Share feature has also been improved with lower latency and faster transfers.

Google and OnePlus have collaborated to provide an advanced Android security system. Users will be able to authorize the display of pop ups, and they will also have more control over notifications from individual apps – which is an Android 13 feature. With OxygenOS 13 a virtual lock box will isolate files from other apps. The collaboration has also helped OnePlus bring the audio switch to OxygenOS 13. OnePlus is also bringing a spatial audio feature to the new OxygenOS that adapts based on the direction and motion of the user’s head, which sounds similar to those offered by Apple and Samsung. ,

OxygenOS 13 Availability

According to the company, OxygenOS 13 will first be available on the OnePlus 10 Pro. Later, the update will make its way to the newly launched OnePlus 10T 5G. OnePlus hasn’t yet announced a definitive release timeline for OxygenOS 13, or which handsets — other than these two smartphones — will be eligible to receive the update upon release.
