Mac users will automatically upgrade to the updated version of Teams. Earlier last month, Microsoft announced an update for its video conferencing platform Teams on the Web with a slew of new features. A report in June also indicated that Microsoft had begun working on bringing online games to its Microsoft Teams service.
Microsoft announced A recent blog post states that Microsoft’s video conferencing platform Teams is optimized to run natively on Mac devices with Apple silicon, including the M1 or M2 chips. The US tech giant said that this will lead to a significant increase in performance and also bring an optimized team experience to the Mac app.
As mentioned earlier, Microsoft Teams Upgrade will be available to Mac users automatically. The company has said that a generally available (GA) version of the Native Teams app on Macs with Apple Silicon will be rolled out to users in the coming months.
In July, Microsoft announced an update for its video conferencing platform Teams on the Web that brought a slew of new features. With the new update, Microsoft introduced background effects for teams on the web that will allow users to add custom backgrounds such as blur. These custom backgrounds were previously only available to Teams app users. In addition, Teams on the Web users are now able to view captions from a cart provider within the meeting window instead of opening a new window. The update also brought live caption support for 27 new languages on teams across the web, including Hindi.
To recall, a report in June also indicated that Microsoft is working on bringing online games to its Microsoft Teams service. The software maker is said to have started testing games like Solitaire, Connect 4 and Wordment Inside Teams.
