Xiaomi has announced the launch of MIUI 7 Global Beta ROM 5.8.22 for its smartphones. The MIUI 7 update will not be available over-the-air (OTA) for Xiaomi smartphones right now, which means you will have to download and install the build manually if you want to board the MIUI 7 train.

As the name suggests, the MIUI 7 ROM is still in beta, which means that the performance is likely to be unstable and may even lead to data loss. Now that you know the risks of installing beta software but still want to proceed, we suggest that you back up your Xiaomi smartphone before proceeding.
At this time, MIUI 7 is available for the following Xiaomi smartphones: Xiaomi Mi 4i, Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G.
Here’s how to download and install MIUI 7 on your Xiaomi smartphone:
1) Identify your smartphone and download the corresponding MIUI 7 build for your smartphone.

Most of the users should download recovery rom for their smartphone. Flashing Recovery ROM will not erase your user data or files in internal storage and it is easy to use, so unless you are planning to start fresh, we suggest you follow this method.
2) Once you have downloaded the recovery ROM that suits your device, rename the downloaded ROM file to update.zip on the computer.
3) Connect your Xiaomi smartphone to your laptop via Micro-USB cable, and copy the downloaded ROM file to the root directory of your device’s internal storage (don’t put it in any other folder) .
4) Enter your device’s recovery mode. There are 2 ways to do this:
Method 1: Launch Updater app on your device, click , icon in the upper-right corner, and select reboot into recovery mode to enter.
Method 2: You can also turn off your device and then hold down both Volume Up + button and Power button together to enter Recovery Mode.
5) Once in recovery mode, you can use Volume +/- to up/down and Power button to confirm,
After entering recovery mode, choose the language you want to use, select Install update.zip in System One And confirm, and then your device will start updating automatically. Wait for the update to complete, Choose Reboot to System OneAnd then your device should boot into MIUI 7 version.
To flash Recovery ROM, all you need to do is place the ROM file in the root directory of your device, and follow the steps to flash it in recovery mode.
Installing the Fastboot ROM is a bit more complicated, and you can follow the instructions below.

3) Switch off your Xiaomi smartphone. Beat volume key And this power button At the same time to enter fastboot mode. Now connect your device to Windows PC or laptop via Micro-USB cable.
4) Double-click on the Fastboot ROM file you downloaded on your PC in Step 2 to decompress it. Open the folder where this decompressed ROM is saved and copy the folder path.
5) Now decompress the flashing tool you downloaded in step 1. Then double-click to install it. then open MiFlash.exe And in its address bar, paste the folder path you copied in the previous step. click now refresh button and MiFlash will recognize your device.
You can choose three options from below: flash all Will flash all files, and erase all user data and all files in internal storage. Flash all except storage Will flash updated files, wipe user data, but will not delete files in internal storage. Flash all except data and storage Will flash only updated files, and will not erase user data and files in internal storage.
To protect your user data make sure you have selected Flash all except data and storage. then click flash button on the top right in order to flash the ROM on your Xiaomi smartphone.
6) Wait for the progress bar to fill up. You will then see a message next to it that reads: “Operation Completed Successfully”. Your device will reboot automatically and MIUI 7 will be installed.
