iOS 9 Search Showing Too Many Results? here is a simple fix

One of the coolest new features of iOS 9 is Spotlight Search. This has long been a major feature of iOS, but this time around it gets new features, such as the ability to show search results from third-party apps. While this is a great feature, if you have too many apps installed, it can clutter your Spotlight search results, making it difficult to find exactly what you were looking for.

If every single app on your iOS device tries to show its search results in the same feed, Spotlight may become unusable. There’s an easy way to keep certain apps out of Spotlight search results. Here’s how to take the clutter out of Spotlight Search.

  1. Open Settings > General > Spotlight Search Running iOS 9 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Now scroll down and you will see a list of apps that support Spotlight Search.
  3. If there’s an app whose results won’t be required for Spotlight search results, toggle its button to the Off position. This can be useful for extracting results from something like Notes, for example, if you only use it as a scratchpad that doesn’t contain any useful information.
