For those who are using Apple’s 16GB iPhone variant, their storage runs out. On this device, a user gets around 11GB of user accessible storage, as the rest is used by Apple’s iOS operating system.
After installing a few apps and storing photos, music and videos, the user normally runs out of storage.
According to a source on redditThere’s a crazy trick you can try to reclaim some used space.
The trick involves renting a movie from iTunes. To see how this trick works, go here Adjustment , General , about and scroll down available,
Check how much storage is left and then go to iTunes Store.
Find a movie that’s bigger than the space left on your phone. For example, if the available space is 4GB, choose a movie whose file size is greater than 4GB.
then press rent at the top of the page. The user will not be charged as the phone does not have enough space to download it and a message will appear which reads You don’t have enough storage,
after clicking Ok, go back to Settings and check your available storage again. There should be a significant increase in the available storage space.
You can repeat the whole process several times.
“As of now, it is not clear how this trick works, but it is probably linked to clearing some cache and other storage of apps,” the report said.
