Truecaller ties up with GoKwik to reduce returns for e-commerce brands

GoKwik has partnered with global caller identification platform Truecaller to provide a seamless shopping experience for e-commerce and digital-first brands in India and instant verification of customers to minimize returns. The collaboration between GoKwik and Truecaller aims to improve conversions and reduce RTO (return to origin) by making it easier to identify and verify users.

RTO or Return to Origin is a major pain point for e-commerce and online merchants as it directly affects their revenue and profits. According to industry-wide statistics, about 20 percent of orders are returned to the original. If the order is placed through cash on delivery mode, this number goes up to 40 per cent.

Chirag Taneja, Co-Founder and CEO, GoKwik, said, “With this partnership, buyers will have a new wave of convenience shopping, resulting in higher conversions, and profitability for merchants as well as stronger RTO fraud prevention. “

After the partnership, customers need not fill in name, phone number and other details manually or bother about OTP issues.

E-commerce fraud is one of the biggest reasons for RTO. Through collaboration, companies will ensure greater accuracy in tracking down unverified customers, who will be more likely to commit RTO fraud.

Top D2C brands like Bombay Shaving Company, Neiman and Sanfe have already started logging on to GoKwik through Truecaller to improve the overall user experience.

Truecaller is an essential part of everyday communication for more than 320 million active users, with half a billion downloads since launch and close to 38 billion unwanted calls identified and blocked in 2021.
